Officials Investigate Fatal Shooting in New Brunswick
New Brunswick, N.J. -Franklin Township police officers fatally shot a New Brunswick resident this morning according to a press release published by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.
The man killed by the police is identified as 27-year-old Diahlo Grant. Police and Grant exchanged gunfire around 1:30 a.m. following a brief pursuit on foot, police say.
An officer attempted CPR at the scene but, Grant was pronounced dead around 3:17 a.m. at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, according to reports from officials.
Police recovered Grant’s gun at the scene.
The Middlesex county prosecutor’s office declined additional comment or release the identity of the two officers involved.
