Armed Robbery Takes Place Near Rutgers Campus

Three men entered a house near the Rutgers College Avenue campus, threatening the residents with guns and demanding drugs, according to a crime alert issued by Rutgers University Police.

The men, believed to be in their early 20s and described as wearing dark clothing with two wearing scarves and one a mask, entered a house on Courtland Street between Guilden and Delafield streets through an unlocked door at about 10:16 p.m. on Feb. 4.

While the victims were not physically injured during the robbery, the three men fled the scene with items of value.

According to Capt. J.T. Miller of the New Brunswick Police Department, the incident remains under investigation. The Crime Alert asks any individual with knowledge of the situation or that was in the vicinity at the time of the incident to reach out to the New Brunswick Police Department Detective Bureau by calling 732-745-5217.
