Rutgers University First-Year Student Dies
Neha Musipatla, a Rutgers University first-year student, died Dec. 8. The circumstances of her death have not been released. She was enrolled in the School of Arts and Sciences and resided in her home in Piscataway.
The Musipatla family invited the Rutgers community to join the wake for Musipatla, held Saturday, Dec. 13, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m where dozens of family and friends arrived at the Hindu Funeral Home in Highland Park for the services on Saturday.
“We are saddened by her loss, and our thoughts and prayers are with Neha’s family and friends at this difficult time,” Richard L. Edwards, Rutgers University Chancellor, said in an email to the Rutgers community. Edwards also shared contact information of the university counselors for students in need of counseling for any reason.
Students can reach Counseling, Alcohol and Other Drug Assistance Program, and Psychological Services at 848-932-7884. They can also visit the center located at 17 Senior St. New Brunswick.
Residence Life staff are available to students living on campus in need of support. The Dean of Students are also available to students residing off campus.
