Rutgers Students Injured in Assault on Hamilton Street, Sunday

Two Rutgers students were assaulted Sunday on Hamilton Street, near Union Street.

The students reported to police that they were walking on Hamilton street around 1:00am when a woman they didn’t know approached them, according to a crime alert issued by the New Brunswick city Police Department confirmed by New Brunswick police . The women verbally threatened to fight the students, and then physically assaulted them, causing non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect was described as a white female in her late teens to early 20s with facial piercings on her lip and upper left eyebrow. She was described to be wearing blue jeans and white tank top at the time of the attack, according to the crime alert.

The New Brunswick City Police Department is encouraging anyone with further information on the attack to contact the New Brunswick City Police Department at 732- 745-5200 or the Rutgers Police Department at 732-932-7211.

The New Brunswick City Police Department does not wish to release any further information at this time.
